Meet our crew

Mats Andersson

Managing Director

Mats has worked in the shipping industry since 1990 and has genuine knowledge and a broad experience covering all fields of the shipping business.

After getting his University degree in Finance and Management from the University of North Alabama, USA, Mats Andersson started his shipping career in 1990. His first employment was at Erik Thun AB located in Lidköping, Sweden. His job assignments and responsibility areas included vessel operation, management, chartering, finance and legal issues. This gave Mats genuine knowledge and a broad experience covering all fields of the shipping business.

The next step in Mats career was to become Head of Finance at one of SCA’s packaging production plants in 1998, where he was part of the management team. SCA is a global hygiene and forest products company, today acting in 100 countries worldwide.

In 2005, Mats decided to return to the shipping business and became part of the CPP Intermediate Team at Broström. In 2010 he became head of the department. Two years later Mats was appointed Head of Broström Tankers AB in Gothenburg, a position he held until he left the company in 2012 to start Navix together with Kjell Frömyhr and Donsötank.

Kjell Frömyhr

Commercial Director

Kjell Frömyhr has more than 26 years of experience and was 24 years old when he entered the shipping business as a cargo inspector at Caleb Brett/Dacoma in Gothenburg. As cargo surveyor and later Operations Manager, Kjell established a unique network of contacts around the world.

Norwegian-born Kjell Frömyhr holds an engine engineer degree and was 24 years old when he entered the shipping business as a cargo inspector at Caleb Brett/Dacoma in Gothenburg. As cargo surveyor and later Operations Manager, Kjell established a unique network of contacts, with oil majors, operators, traders, and local suppliers such as the refineries Preem, Shell and Nynäs. But he also got to know a large number of local and international ship-owners. During these years, Kjell became familiar with most kind of vessels and storage facilities giving a unique experience and knowledge in ship constructions and cargo handling.

In 1995 Kjell joined a Gothenburg based shipbroker and ship-owner where he carried out ship agency, vessel operations and management. Kjell’s responsibilities included bunkers purchases, technical issues and launching the ISM code for the fleet.

The next step in Kjell’s career was to join the leading ship-owner United Tankers (today Broström) where he started as vessel operator in 1999. 13 years later he ended his employment as senior charterer with responsibility for the DPP segment including 18 vessels to start Navix with Mats Andersson.

Fredrik Östberg

Senior Charterer

Fredrik has spent more than 27 years in shipping handling spot fixtures, contracts and shipping projects in both small and intermediate sizes covering both CPP and DPP.

Adding even more valuable experience to the company Fredrik Östberg joined the Navix-team on July 1st, 2015. He has strengthened the chartering department with his broad knowledge in chartering and as a respected person in the shipping industry.

Fredrik started his shipping career in 1988 when he joined Valdemar Andersons Shipbrokers AB where he started as a port agent in Gothenburg, and after that, he moved over to handling operations and demurrage and ended up as a charterer in 2003.

Before joining Navix he has also worked as a senior charterer at Thun Tankers in Gothenburg, where he was in charge of the 8000 dwt vessels trading CPP and DPP in NWE.

Between 2008 and 2012 Fredrik worked at Broström Tankers where he was mainly on the Intermediate DPP chartering desk, but he also joined their small desk at the end year 2011.

All in all Fredrik has spent more than 27 years in shipping handling spot fixtures, contracts and shipping projects in both small and intermediate sizes covering both CPP and DPP.

Olle Nilsson

Senior Charterer

With experience as a sailor, a solid education and his earlier position as Personnel Manager at Donsötank.

Before joining Navix in 2013, Olle Nilsson worked as Project Manager for offshore supply vessels in Norway. He is well educated in Shipping and Marine Technology and has a great understanding of life onboard since he has been sailing for three years. Rasmus has studied at the Chalmers University of Technology and holds a bachelor degree from the Shipping & Logistics program.

After his studies Rasmus was employed as an Operator on December 1st, 2016.
